Biography

Orit Levin of Microsoft serves on the Steering Committee for the OASIS Telecom Member Section; her term extends to May 2011.

Orit Levin is a Senior Standards Program Manager in the Entertainment & Devices Division of Microsoft Corporation. Ms. Levin’s experience spans software development, people management, and standardization activities across a broad range of networking technologies.

In ETSI/TISPAN, Ms. Levin served as Rapporteur for TR 181 020, which identifies emerging requirements for exposing NGN services and capabilities and evaluates existing technologies (such as Web services) against those requirements.

Ms. Levin has been actively engaged in the IPTV Interoperability Forum (IIF) in ATIS since January 2006 and is an editor of several published and draft specifications.

In her previous role in Microsoft Office Unified Communications, Ms. Levin led SIP interoperability within Microsoft and with partners. During that time, her main focus in IETF was on SIP federated domains (for multimedia, instant messaging and presence communications) and on a centralized conferencing architecture. Ms. Levin is an author of eleven IETF RFCs.

Earlier, as Chief Architect at RADVISION Inc., she was an active contributor to ITU-T Study Group 16 and H.323 protocol work. Ms. Levin graduated Cum Laude with an engineering degree in Computer Science from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa.
