The OASIS Telecom Member Section is governed by a Steering Committee under the group's published Rules of Procedure.

The OASIS Telecom Steering Committee consists of seven members, each serving a two-year term. For consistency of management, terms are staggered so that four seats expire one year and the other three expire the following year.

To launch the Member Section, initial Steering Committee members were determined by the OASIS Telecom proposers. After the first year of operation, Steering Committee representatives will be nominated and elected by the OASIS Telecom membership in an open process. The selection of the Steering Committee is based on individual merit and is not tied to financial contribution or corporate standing.
